Two Individuals Accused Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Assault
Formal charges have been brought against two men related to a suitcase robbery where a believed to be pepper spray led to people being hurt at London's Heathrow Airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two robbery charges and charges for deploying a toxic agent, as confirmed by court officials.
The charges follow an probe of an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.
A three-year-old girl was among those injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
The incident – which authorities stated was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
