Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions involving young women.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works in total, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
