British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his close associates.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The boxer had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, representatives confirmed on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
